Anyone hunt from a blind?
Does anyone on here archery hunt from a blind? I have a nice climber stand ( a bit heavy for long hikes )but I was thinking of going with a blind this year. Ive hunted in climbers before but mostly grew up using ladder stands. My problem is im not a big fan of heights.
For those that use blinds I have some questions.
1. which one?
2. how big?
3. do they stand out to deer?
4. do they give you room to move around in ?
5. how are they to shoot a bow out of?
thanks for the input guys.No longer posting

Re: Anyone hunt from a blind?
x-bows are really easy to shoot out of blinds!!!!
When selecting a blind I'd go to a place that has a few set up ask the salesman to see one of the bows in stock, and crawl into the blind and practice drawing it or mock drawing it for that matter. I think that will help out a lot.

Re: Anyone hunt from a blind?
very good advice already given.
Blinds are really Dependant upon location. keep in mind the placement is crucial or else it will stand out
get in side them and look around first! some are very roomy, others not so much, also get used to sitting down when you shoot your bowThe first vehicles normally on the scene of a crime are ambulances and police cruisers. If you are armed you have a chance to decide who gets transported in which vehicle, if you are not armed then that decision is made for you.
Be prepared, because someone else already is and no one knows their intent except them.

Re: Anyone hunt from a blind?
My husband and I use blinds during the early part of the archery season. We have found it nescessary to set up the blind about 20-30 days early. They are used to it by then and dont spook like they did the first year. Seeing something new on the path.
Make sure you get one with flaps that will allow quiet operation and a roof that will shed water.
Hope this helps.

Forgot to say that some come with a shoot thru screen. I have it, but have never used it. If you ever try it, let me know.
