    Default Police Chief shoots officer

An Iowa police chief accidently shot one of his officers at police headquarters in Carter Lake, Iowa.

"Police Chief Shawn Kannedy was discussing firearms with two officers on Wednesday when Kannedy's weapon went off.

The officer who was shot, Sgt. Dan Driver, was taken to Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, Neb. He is reported to be in good condition.

How the hell does a weapon go off when you are merely "discussing firearms"?

It probably went something like this "here let me show you with mine." BANG! "Oh %&#*(&&!"

Gotta love the experts though. Really. Trained professionals I tell you.

Maybe they were standing in a burning building and the fire caused the round to go off.

Just the mention of a firearm to a fully loaded weapon within a certain proximity is well enough to make said weapon aim at another officer and fire.

The gun just went off because it was one of those new fancy biometric so called "smart guns".

used by dumb (who should know better) people that are trained & paid to better than the rest of the civilians that can't be trusted to own guns for our protection

I hope the officer shot fully recovers and the chief is fired

The chief was discussing how the officers need more firearms training, because currently only the chief is professional enough to carry a Glock forty.
