I'm not sure on the actual laws, but in high school a buddy of mine was hunting on game lands with an M-44 and was told by a commis. to remove it or he would fine him. So he got out his multi tool and on screwed it and stuck it in his belt. I don't think the warden was exactly happy with that but he left him alone. And if your on private land if they are close enough to bayonet why not. Just make sure it's a clean kill

Well they say you learn something new each day... That is pretty interesting. When you shoot it, let us know how it performs.

Where is it written that you can't hunt with a gun that has in integral bayonet mounted? I have never read this anywhere.

Getting to the point ofthe magazine capacity, I have hunted with my No.4 and No. 5 Enfields over the years and there were times rather than carry the extra rounds in my pocket or pack, I simply loaded all ten into the mag of the gun. Perfectly legal. So as with a Mosin, I'd load all 5 into the mag and not give it another thought. Hunt and enjoy.

Im hoping to get some practice at a few groundhogs this summer with my 91/30. A buddy and I were shooting some of the 203grSP the other day out to 400 yards and were hitting cement blocks consistanly. Im pretty happy with that.
I think it would be awsome to take a deer at that range with open sights. Heck i've never shot one that far with my 308 w/scope. more fun at 15-20yards with a bow.
