How long range, and where at? I have a heavy barrel Savage in .204 Ruger with the AccuTrigger, bipod and a 6-24X scope that I would like to see how it does at longer ranges.

I suppose the definition depends on a lot of things. Balistics being one of them (i.e., Crossman BB gun vs. .308) But for this discussion, I'll say anything past the 200yd line at Scotia.

Where? Well, that's the real trick around here, or at least it is for me.

I have a membership to a range that has a rifle range out to 1000 yards in Mifflin Co. Problem is....it's 45 minutes away, so on the off chance that I have time to go, I have to spend several hours to make it worth my while. I'm a busy guy so several hours of uninterupted free time are rare for me. It'd be nicer to have something closer. Needless to say, I don't get to shoot as often as I'd like.

Just wondering if there's anyone else in the same boat.

Reade is probably just as far from SC. They have a nice range there, out to 1000yds. I'm in the same boat though, I'd like to find a 600 yd range to test match loads and practice, but Reade is about an hour from me and time isn't something that I have an excess of.

    So I'm not alone then!

I'll have to check out Reade. If your interested, check out Mifflin Co Sportmans Club. They have a web site. Target stands at assorted ranges. Maybe we could organize a shoot. Get Xringshooter out there too.

Send FSLFLINT a PM. He does long range and lives in Centre Hall.

I've shot a little bit of long range. nothing recently, and sence I don't own an actual long range rig it make s it hard. I shoot to about 450 on a pretty regular bassis with my varmit rig.
