When are you going to take your AR's outdoors and stretch their legs, so to speak?
Thanks Joe. The previous owner of the rail system needs a better set Phillips heads. He installed it, but never used it. I can't complain getting the entire thing for $165 though.

I've been so busy on the weekends with all kinds of events. Folks were sure busy in the winter so every weekend in the summer is a birthday party (I have to to to 2 this weekend). Did you sign up for any outdoor range yet? Maybe we can arrange for something.

Nice build, by the way. Your becoming an "old pro" at these now. If I didn't know better, I would say you are OBSESSED!
Hahaha...thanks Mike! I'm fixated on the tools for the time being. Obsession is the correct word . Once I'm satisfied (getting there), I need to focus on actually using them. Kasia and I need to make an effort to make our way up "north" before the summer is over.

Awesome view my friend! Where the heck are you? You look like you're somewhere just northeast of the city. We do have a balcony, but nothing with the space and view for your Noveske.

Deal! Although, like you, I usually need to do A LOT of homework before asking people questions. I need a "reasonably-priced" toy for casual and astrophotographic purposes, but could use some pointers on techniques for the time being. Your stuff is AMAZING!

Thank you! I spent a lot of time thinking about the details of what I wanted to put together. I bought a set of Daniel Defense 7.0 Lite, but jumped on the VLTOR CASV-EL because of the price and figured that the VLTOR is a little more unique. I love the ACE SOCOM stock. Being the shorty version, when fully extended, it fits me perfectly. I got the ACE Skeleton shorty for my wife's build, and really liked how solid it was. Besides, it was $145 + shipping from JSE Surplus (and still is, I think).

As for the front sight, again, I was looking for something unique. I LOVE the triangular silhouette look of the AR15 standard sight, but really wanted both of my BUIS to be foldable. Well, the 41BL is just about as perfect as you can get. $122/shipped off of ebay!

Nice floor Al - I love the bamboo - oh, excellent work on the rifle too!

As Mikey said, common' up and bring Kasia with you (of course - bring your new toy too). Well take that out and get some photos of the two of ya with your new addition to the family. Mikey is only 10 minutes from my place - and we have a great range up the street. Ill bet we can get Pennsy to come see your new baby as well

You live in Philly, be careful with that thing on the balcony..
I can just see it now..

Your Neighbor's 911 call: Hello, yes there is a man on the balcony waving around a machine gun (because everyone thinks they are machine guns)

Next thing you know, SWAT teams have the building surrounded..

    Very nice build BTW..

Sounds like a plan Matt! Let me see if I can plan something out with Kasia soon. I love shooting outdoors, but haven't done it in a while. We have a BUNCH of "new" additions to try out.

Oh, and thanks, I worked hard on the bamboo

Any pointers to how I can begin an MP5K journey? That is an elusive beast.

    Damn.
    Beat me to it...

I was going to say Bella Vista, as your skyscrapers look closer than my skyscrapers.

Hell, at least we have this neighborhood covered.

I have the same socom stock. I put the 1 inch rubber pad on it (comes with a 1/2 inch) and then drop it down one notch shorter.
Its a stable stock, rock solid. I was at first concerned the cheek rest area would degrade quickly and that padding would junk up and rip off, but about a year and a half later its still like new, and its seen plenty of use and bad weather.

You can buy a Coharie CA89K, but you will have to replace a few of the crap internal parts they put in it.. And then submit the paperwork for your SBR tax stamp, buy a stock and VFG..

Or buy a HK SP89 instead, so you have a real german gun (swap out the semi carrier with an FA carrier). Tax stamp, stock and VFG.
Other than buying a real HK MP5k, this is the most expensive way to do it.
