Does anyone know what is legal and whats illegal ammo to own in pa?

As far as I know, all ammo is legal in PA (per PA law). The only restrictions are Fed.

Don't know of any small arm ammo restrictions UNLESS you are commiting a crime but maybe someone else could elaborate -

(a) Offense defined.—It is unlawful for any person to possess, use or attempt to use a KTW teflon-coated bullet or other armor-piercing ammunition while committing or attempting to commit a crime of violence as defined in section 6102 (relating to defini*tions).

only bullets that are illegal are the armor piercing bullets for small arms (handguns)

Nope. The crime is still illegal. They just pile on one more offense.

So not only do they send you to jail for life for the murder of [whoever], but they add another 10 years for the illegal handgun, and another 10 years because you used AP ammo in above mentioned illegal handgun. Don't worry though; you'll be out in 5 years on good behavior - just like the last time.
