Professional Training....
Hello all, I am a novice to firearms and recently applied for my ltcf.
I am looking to receive some basic training before carrying, safety, marksmanship, legal, etc.
If anyone can direct me to a professional course/class/institution that offers these services I would be much obliged.
I am located in the suburbs just outside Philadelphia, so something local would be a bonus.
Thanks!

Check out Classic Pistol in Southampton. They are a great bunch of people and have training classes. I took one and the instructor was very good. Great place to learn and shoot. Also lots of guns for sale and rent.

Re: Professional Training....
Weekend tactical courses would indeed be the next step, but I strongly advise newbies to get one or two shorter safety and intro-to-shooting courses under their belt first. When you go to these weekend courses, the more ready you are, the more you can concentrate on the new material, rather than frantically trying to deal with total basics. Also, if you go to a weekend course and you have no grasp of safety rules, they may boot you.
Taking in whatever local courses you can find, then spending a few range sessions absorbing that material is money well spent.

Once you get your basics down check out these guys for more in-depth training:

I've never trained with them, but have heard good things.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys.
I put 100 rounds through my G26 yesterday (new, out of box). Very happy with it so far!
