Why did you get into the shooting sports?
I was 14 when I first fired a real firearm and it was fun but I wasn't addicted. Then after firing alot of different weapons in the military, I realized then I was pretty good from the get go and got even better after multiple markmanship courses before my tour to the sandbox (sometimes us privates and pfc's do get to have all the fun) My addiction didn't really take off until my last injury playing baseball. I am really competitive and played football, basketball, baseball, hockey and soccer growing up. All those years of sports really put a lick on my body especially my knees and ankles and I just can't play any of those anymore aside from a leisurely game of softball and horseshoes. I'd also like to start playing golf as well, which I did when I was younger leisurely as well. Paintball is still fun even though I feel older than I am after playing that all day.
Anways, it's my competitive side and my upbringing, being responsible for yourself (CSI, Crime Scene Investigation not Crime Scene Prevention)

Re: Why did you get into the shooting sports?
Simple answer, I went from having no intentions to ever own a gun (but supporting the right to) to deciding to get my LTCF and a gun as soon as I turned 21 because of a 13 yr old with a gun he (thankfully) didn't know how to use.
Please help my Baby Kitties and I avoid being homeless.

For me, I got past the novelty of "guns go bang" pretty quickly, and took to trap shooting and target shooting right away. And, the shooting sports are lots and lots of fun!

I got my 1st gun 55 years ago this Christmas . A 22 stevens single shot rifle . Got serious about guns in 1965 - 1968 . Got serious again in 1970 . and have been ever since .
Don't blame me ; I voted for an American .

Re: Why did you get into the shooting sports?
Someone put a bullet into my grandfather while robbing his store when I was a child.
I found both triggers to be terrible to me so the triggers are on a scale to me.. The Glock was a crisper suck and the XD was a more mushy suck. They are in the same family, SR9 (heavy suck), Glock (crisp heavy suck), XD( lighter mushy suck), M&P(heavy mushy suck).
