    Question Smallbore Rifle Build

So I've had a Ruger 10/22 that I've mainly had sitting around/farm walking and I'd like to start moving into a smallbore rifle competition rifle. I've looked through so many pages of stocks, barrels, parts, etc that my brain is fried. If anybody can help me in the right direction of a nice barrel and stock to start with I'd be greatly appreciated. Internal parts I'm not worried about so much. I think I'm just going to shortcut everything and buy a Volquartsen drop-in kit. Thanks for any help.
If only ammo was cheap. Wait. I reload. Darn .22 lr.

It's not a competition upgrade but that's more a function of the barrel and sights. Here's a sweet looking upgrade I'd like to do to a 10/22.

This company has a LOT of stuff for 10/22. Look around, you'll probably find just what you're looking for.

Here's mine. Green Mountain bull barrel, Volquartsen/Boyd's stock and everything else Volquartsen. Have a bit over $600 in it. One hole 25 yds all day long from the bench. Scope is a BSA 8 x 24. You'll need to experiment with different ammo. Mine only likes Wolf Match.

Big +1 RFC is a great site. A few yrs ago I made up a nice and verrrrrrry accurate sporter using a nicely figured walnut DSP stock and a 22 inch stainless taper fluted Green Mountian barrel. Not a real heavy bench gun but with the longer barrel would hang real nice in offhand shooting and amazingly would hold 3/8" at 50 all day every day with wolf match and RWS rifle Target.
