Statewide 7.0% of 21+ adults have a license, i.e. approximately 1 in 14 adults

The new posted statistics represent updated data provided by the Pa State Police (PSP) on 8/14/09 pursuant to my inquiry in July. In reviewing the earlier spreadsheets it was noted that the CY 2006 data was in error and I proceeded to contact the PSP Bureau of Records and Identification (MAJ Snyder) and the Firearms Division of that Bureau (LT Lokhaiser) at the Harrisburg Headquarters.
I was pleasantly surprised that my inquiry was accepted and processed in a most professional manner thanks to both the aforementioned officers and, as a result, the official publication has been corrected and the updated data provided me to correct the previous 2008 LTCF Demographics.
I have posted links below of the ensuing correspondence for those interested.

To be honest, I would have thought that more people had a LTCF...

Can anyone post the LTCF statistics for York County? My Adobe Acrobat is being a real asshole and not working.
Thanks.

I noticed Allegheny has the same amount listed for both 2005 and 2006. I would guess one of those are wrong.

Re: 2008 Cumulative LTCF by County
Good catch. I went back to the original PSP reports for both years and they list identical numbers for LTCF and Sportsman's permits for both years. Obviously these must be in error. I remember a similar instance for Centre county IIRC.
I'll be in contact with PSP and post if I get any updated info.
eta: Upon further review there are many such duplicates. As Ricky would say - PSP 'you go some splaining to do!'Last edited by tl_3237; July 3rd, 2009 at 09:50 AM.

Re: 2008 Cumulative LTCF by County
Does anyone else see a a direct crime difference between counties that have a higher carry rate and the lesser ones?
