    Default Lehigh LTCF Time

Hey guys. So I am going to the Lehigh County Courthouse today to apply for my LTCF. I was wondering for you folks that already have a LTCF from PA, how long does it usually take to get your permit?
    Thanks!

Depending on County, in Lehigh, it's takes some where from 30-40 work days. Other County just walks right back out within 15-20 min.

It takes about five weeks. You wll need two references from Lehigh County, some cash and a clean record. They will take your photo, your money, snoop into your background a little then finally "grant you" the right that is already yours and inviolate.

I suggest marking "Self Defense" because the PA Constitution clearly protects this right in the Declaration of Rights:

Section 21 . Right to Bear Arms
The right of the citizens to bear arms in defense of themselves and the State shall not be questioned.

Section 25. Reservation of Powers in People
To guard against transgressions of the high powers which we have delegated, we declare that everything in this article is excepted out of the general powers of government and shall forever remain inviolate.

    Be safe.

I applied for mine in the beginning of the month, and have yet to receive it. I am a little worried, because I have 2 d.u.i. convictions years ago. But I told the clerk at the sheriff's office this, and she said as long as I don't have 3 I should have no problem.

I just got mine from Lehigh County and it took all of the 45 work days. It sucked having to wait that long.

Hope yours comes in quicker than that. My wifes card came in in about 38 work days.

From what I understand, yes the information you got was correct. I'm just a little curious as to why a background check and putting your picture on a card and laminating it takes 45 days. They sure took my $38.00 quick enough

I don't get it haha. I guess thats just the way things are. I have no problem with the sheriff's office taking time to run a check and make sure I am "legally" capable of carrying a concealed weapon, but 45 days is just ridiculous. I did the smart thing. I turned 21 on Tuesday, and I went and submitted my application. I don't even have my pistol yet! I just ordered it today, so I have a little lead time now
