Default Extended Hours Schedule for 2009 for LTCF

Delaware County now has extended, though limited, hours for folks looking to get their LTCF.

One Monday a month they are open until 7:00 PM.
    7/13, 8/10, 9/14, 10/19, 11/9 and 12/14.

One Saturday a Month they are open 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
    7/11, 8/1, 9/12, 10/3, 11/7 and 12/5.

Normal hours are non holiday 9 to 3. And I wouldn't show up at 5 minutes to 3 either.

No Social Security number is necessary, but they tell you it move the process along faster. If you have a common name, might have multiple hits.
New and reissues only taking about 30 to 40 days.(Not business days)

Remember though, there is a six month "grace period" so you're still legal six months after the expiration date, as long as you don't do anything prohibiting until you renew

    18 Pa.C.S. § 6106: Firearms not to be carried without a license

    (a) Offense defined.--

    (1) Except as provided in paragraph (2), any person who carries a firearm in any vehicle or any person who carries a firearm concealed on or about his person, except in his place of abode or fixed place of business, without a valid and lawfully issued license under this chapter commits a felony of the third degree.
    (2) A person who is otherwise eligible to possess a [FN1] valid license under this chapter but carries a firearm in any vehicle or any person who carries a firearm concealed on or about his person, except in his place of abode or fixed place of business, without a valid and lawfully issued license and has not committed any other criminal violation commits a misdemeanor of the first degree.

    (b) Exceptions.--The provisions of subsection (a) shall not apply to:

    (12) A person who has a lawfully issued license to carry a firearm pursuant to section 6109 (relating to licenses) and that said license expired within six months prior to the date of arrest and that the individual is otherwise eligible for renewal of the license.

Ugh, today is day 46 for me. Is there any point in calling to ask what's up?

Interesting, Helter! Did you choose to omit your SS#? I have been hearing they are caught up on back log and are sitting on 30 to 40 days.

I would wait the full 45 days and then call the sheriffs department.

    No, I included my SS#.
I might swing by tomorrow and just stop in. I'm not convinced that the mail in my area is 100% reliable, maybe it's just sitting there waiting for me! (and maybe I'm delusional)

Hah, turns out I was right... I stopped by today as I had business down the street. They approved me about a week after I applied, but I never got the letter.

How weird is that. Make a trip to your post office and have a talk with the manager there. (Unarmed of course)

My wife and I were there today to. She was picking up her license. 11:30 to Noonish?

Yeah, I intend to... I was there about 10:45, so I just missed her
