    Default taking apart an ak

i have purchased a m70 underfolder parts it from apex gun parts to build a low cost ak. i have never attempted this before. my question is how exactly do i get it apart do i need to cut the rivets and drill them out or finish cutting the reciever apart. this is just the beginning i will have many questions later on. i dont have it yet but i hope it will come early next week i also have a wasr 10 so i kinda have a basic ak concept. thanks

you've got alot more coming too you than I think you thought you did... You will have almost the same or more money in a kit to build up than just buying the m70 already completed. You will be needing 6 or 7 us made parts put into it to make it legal and many differnet tools to even complete the job...

Here is a good place to start reading...

i understand its not an overnight project and yes i know i need us compliant parts. but these things have been going for around 500 i should be able to do it for less i have most of what i need and if i think its too much i will sell the kit.

how much did you pay for the kit? is it a stamped or milled kit?

I bought a bunch of Romy G kits several years back for $99 each it ended up costing me about $350 total at that time to build them up. Now the same kit costs me 300ish plus 200ish for compliant crap = 500 for just the run of the mill AK without anything fancy.

All of your answers can be found on http://www.theakforum.net/. It is a great group of guys that know their AK's. Go to the build section and all of your questions will disappear.

Here is a Polish that Derick at AZEK in Mesa AZ, built using a Global receiver... Ignore the Bulgarian mag... Did you buy the kit from AZEK or Apex
