Fobus is junk.
If you must have kydex: bladetech, sidearmor, comp-tac are good ones
Why no leather?

Gander Mountain has Blackhawk CQB in stock if you want to try one on, obviously don't buy there at their price.

I would be looking at Blade-Tech or Comp Tac for a kydex holster.

Re: Holster choices, OWB Kydex/plastic/composite for G22
I've been using a 1st Gen Sidearmor all this time, and I like it because it's one single piece of kydex. However they no longer sell the canted version of their 1st Gen OWB.
I'm a little disenchanted with the newer kydex OWBs I see on the market. Because "adjustability" is all the rage, you have these modular kydex OWBs that are: a) bulky thus hard to conceal, b) VERY fragile because they're two pieces (a base plate that attaches to your belt and the separate holster piece) held together by tiny screws. This does not inspire confidence, since screws in kydex tend to work loose over time. I have this mental "Curb Your Enthusiasm" like image of my holstered Glock falling off in the downtown Macys.
I would probably do leather OWB, even in the summer, except that they tend to rub very audibly with me as I walk.
Btw, another holster option to look into is horsehide: as thin and rigid as kydex; as strong as leather. The Kramer belt scabbard is IMO the premier example of that style.

Jay5oh,
I think I just posted this for someone else yesterday...
If you haven't read it, check out this thread.
http://www.pafoa.org/forum/question-...-holsters.html
I got a lot of good advice and learned a few things I hadn't considered along the way. On page 6, I describe my final decision on the SERPA. By the way, I worried about the difficulty in "learning" a retention holster too - valid concern. I can assure you that if you normally place your index finger along the slide, the SERPA offers no new challenges in drawing your weapon.
dgg9 has some valid points concerning adjustability and concealment. In addition to the SERPA (adjustable), I have a Fobus Roto holster and I think a good leather, non-paddle holster would conceal better, but that wasn't my main concern. The Fobus does stick out more than the SERPA.
Regarding the screws, the SERPA seems plenty secure enough for my needs, but I do see the advantage of a one piece design.
Good luck!I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!
