Anyone use gunbroker?

Hi all, I am not to familiar with this site. Has anyone sold any firearms on here?
What is the process for selling one?
Anything i should know about before i sell something?
What should i include in my add that you think should be said?

Any help is welcomed.

Gunbroker is Ok, I had some problems with all the leg work to ship an item, you know from dealer to dealer that kinda thing. It can be a real pain, but other than that it's pretty good. Good photo's are a plus as the other poster indicated..

Take good photos, place a "fair" price on your item for the starting bid, I stick to "no Reserve" auctions. So as soon as someone bids you know your item has sold for at least a fair price. Now you have to keep faith that another buyer will be interested in your product and drive the price up. The buyer has less hesitation when it starts fair with no reserve. Keep the auctions short, 3 days at the most. I have done longer auctions and it doesn't do anything but make you wait for your stuff to get sold. Make sure you find out how much it will be for your FFL to ship your firearm before you create your auction. Then place a Flat fee on shipping. I only accept USPS MO as payment or Paypal with a 3.5% fee. I always stipulate that payment must be made within 10 days of the auction ending. Otherwise it's too easy for you to get ripped off. Find out where you can ship to as well. If you can not ship your product to CA then put that in your ad. If there is an increased fee for somwhere like AK then put that in your ad. If you would like to keep it to the continental US excluding CA then put that in your ad.

gunbroker is a pretty good site. you can find some good deals on it. i never used it myself (yet, i have my eye on a NIB armalite ar10), but a freind of mine sold a gun on there and it went smooth. thru the gunbroker forum is actually how i found this site.

i have bought and sold about 60-70 items on gunbroker in the last several years, and only had 2 significant problems. in one instance the seller died after cashing my check and before shipping. on seeing this in the seller ratings two weeks after the auction closed i contacted the county sherrif and verified. never got the gun from the estate. in the second instance i got nasty e-mails and phone calls from a buyer who insisted that the bren kit i sent them wasn't complete as photographed. they hassled me for weeks but never posted negative feedback. i suppose they just realised they had overbid and wanted me to offer a partial refund.

use the 7 day auctions, give a starting bid 10-20% below what you think the item is worth, and link your item to posts in as many gun sites as you can.

I've both sold parts (a barrel) and bought a gun (locally settled FTF after winning auction).

It's a good site. You can't blame Gunbroker for the Federal Shipping Laws and carrier policies in regards to shipping items. They make possible what Ebay has made "illegal" on their site, which is providing a means for citizens to buy and sell guns and parts in one easily accessible location.

In regards to mentions of PayPal - they are owned by Ebay and have a very strict no parts, no firearms policy. If they catch you using Paypal to pay for parts or firearms they can terminate your account. That is why you will see many ads with payment options listing NO PAYPAL or mention of "Evil PayPal".

I was kind of disappointed by PayPals stance when I went through Gunbroker. It ain't gunbrokers fault though! I wonder if they will ever organize something akin to Paypal for gun owners? Man there is a business opportunity...

I have done 18 deals on gunbroker, all with me as the buyer, I have not sold there. All went smoothly.
I do, however, have one rule about buying guns there. That is that the seller will always grade the gun one level higher than I would. I bid accordingly.
If selling, be as honest as possible, as one should with all things in life.

So when there's no reserve (red R) and there's no bids (0) the price listed is the fair price that must be met? or can you bid lower than that amount and end up getting it?
