    Default WTB: .44 Magnum

    Hey folks,

Payday is right around the corner and I need a badass .44 Magnum. Let me know what you have and how much you're looking to get for it. I'd prefer stainless steel and in ~6inch barrel but am open to what you might have.

    Thanks

I'd look around for a S&W model 29. I don't know if you shot mine but that's what mine is. it has an 8 and 3/8" barrel, very comfortable shooting, takes a little more concentration pulling it out of a holster though. I'd lend it to you but it's with me, its my favorite. Try different shops, Allegheny river Arsenal, Gander Mtn., There's another one but it's a little far but not too far, Sportsman supply on rt 356, take 28 north and get off at learnerville exit and head towards buttler (past learnerville) their about 15 to 20 miles from there on the right. Good prices and good people.

Is that why you asked if I brought my 7 1/2"Ruger Redhawk at the last shoot?

    Try Gunbroker.com

If I make the next shoot (probably), I'll bring it but I'm not sure what I have for ammo and won't have time to reload by then.

I'd look for a S&W 629 (stainless version of the 29) if you want the most badass revolver. Colt Anaconda is also a nice choice, but since they don't make them any more they're a little harder to find and getting pricey. The ruger is a nice choice, and you can get them with a 10 1/2" bbl - if size matters.

no matter what you get, .44 mags are inherently badass!

Well, I still want it to be semi-practical so S&W500 is out and I could never afford the gun or the bullets.

I'd rather the barrel stay under 7"

They look pretty pricey. May be too rich for my blood right now. For the price, I'd build an AR first.

I think I've seen Ruger Redhawks (not super Redhawks) for $300/$350 on Gunbroker.

    THC,

I have a SS Ruger Super Blackhawk w/ 7 1/2" bbl you can try out at the next shoot. Bring ammo and you can shoot all the ammo you bring for it. All I have left are my hunting rounds. It is my deer pistol so it is not for sale (How many FFL's say that?) See if ya like it before you make an impulsive choice.
