Firearms Aboard AMTRAK?
Has anyone heard if the latest round of legislations from Congress now permit firearms aboard AMTRAK just like the airlines? I never heard for sure if it was passed!

Re: Firearms Aboard AMTRAK?
I find it hard to believe, since baggage declaration with amtrak is very.. informal. I wouldn't want to check a firearm with amtrak, personally. Carry-on would be a different story.
Any mission, any conditions, any foe at any range.
Twice the mayhem, triple the force.
Ten times the action, total hardcore.

Re: Firearms Aboard AMTRAK?
Currently, AMTRAK does not permit firearms, even as checked baggage. I know that Senator Wicker included an amendment with the Budget Bill to allow firearms to be checked as baggage the same way that airlines do. The Bill passed the Senate, but have not heard if it cleared the House.
And, since the Budget does not go into effect until October, will that amendment go into effect at that time?

Re: Firearms Aboard AMTRAK?
If I am reading all this crap correctly, Senate Amendment 798, the amendment allowing checked firearms on AMTRAK, passed, but Senate Concurrent Resolution 13, the Senate budget resolution itself, passed and is in conference with the House.
I honestly have very little idea how the budget resolutions work in Congress, though.
