    Default firearm locks

I was looking at the Pennsylvania Laws Relating to Firearms booklet and saw this:
18 Pa.C.S. § 6142: Locking device for firearms, which generally says that a dealer must provide a lock for every firearm sold. (At least the way I understand it.)

I've received a lock with every new gun I've bought. I have never received or been offered the purchase of a lock for any used firearm I've bought.

I wonder if FFL's are generally aware of this statute?

Odd the two most recent firearms that I purchased new I received no locks. Does that apply only to handguns and not long guns?

Not that I'd ever use those cheap locks they were giving away a few years ago.
