Anyone still selling non-ethanol gasoline in Pittsburgh?
Just curious if anyone knows of any gas stations in the Pittsburgh area (including as far north as Cranberry Twp and out to Monroeville,) that just sell regular gasoline, without an E-10 blend?
Read the following article on ethanol and started getting a little upset. If there's anyone who still sells undiluted gasoline in Pittsburgh, I think I'd prefer to give them my business.

I do believe that all Kwik Fill stations are ethanol free. Plus the oil is refined in Warren, PA and they only use North American crude.

I rather doubt that you'll find very much available anymore, since the EPA formulations now require it.
In a truly sad state of affairs, they are even expected to add it to unleaded aviation fuel (by EPA regs); which is strictly forbidden by FAA rules, and they are trying to phase out the 100 low-lead blue gas for 94UL. Pretty soon, all we'll have left is 91/96, which is like 91-octane car gas, still without the alcohol.
If you hunt around, you might find Sunoco 260 GT (100 octane) at a roundy-pounder track...
I gave up and had the valve seats hardened on my 404 ci Mopar small-block so I can use unleaded."...a REPUBLIC, if you can keep it."

Re: Anyone still selling non-ethanol gasoline in Pittsburgh?
Anyone that has ever used alcohol for fuel on a race track will tell you that your standard automotive engines wont run on it straight. You will need higher compression and better fuel delivery. While present gas only has a certain percentage to it, it does affect the engines performance and economy.
I noticed when they started adding that stuff to gasoline that my fuel economy dropped 10-20% and had less power thus compounding the problem. This ethanol additive thing is a scam. Gas prices didn't drop, economy went down, power went down, and now I have to fuel up more often - spending more damn money.

What most people don't realize that gas mileage will dump between 8% and 15% when using E10 over straight gas.
In fact everyone of the MPG web sites wants Ethanol gone yesterday.
This crap in the gas is killing your gas mileage.
The environmental impact is unbelievable. Carbon foot print is huge since it can't be shipped by pipeline. The stuff is so good at cleaning it contaminates the fuel by ripping the crud inside the pipe right off the surface making the Ethanol useless.
So here you have to use tanker trucks to ship it between the plant and the refinery. How much diesel does each of those trucks burn traveling to and from those two points?

Re: Anyone still selling non-ethanol gasoline in Pittsburgh?
The Get Go in Kennedy where i buy my gas has removed the "May contain up to 10% ethanol" stickers from the pumps....I noticed that my mileage has gone back up to where it was before they started blending.
It's required in Pa. that the pumps be labeled if ethanol is being blended. http://http://www.fuel-testers.com/s...anol_laws.htmlLast edited by Bib; May 28th, 2009 at 09:52 PM.

Check out the Gulf stations, all the ones around here are Ethanol free. Same for the Citgo pumps at the 7-11s around Harrisburg. I used Sunoco for years, but my gas mileage dropped noticeably when they added Ethanol. The funny thing is our tax dollars are paying to subsidize corn and Ethanol refining, then we get taxed again at the pump for their inferior fuel.

Thanks for the Gulf update. I never thought about them being Ethanol free.
