Black snakes are colored differently in youth stage. Our snake book is at home but it could be one of those.

I'm guessing the eastern hognose... the head shape isnt quite right for the milk snake... its too diamond shaped.

I have my rifle. Do you?

I caught my dog trying to play with this one last year. She was supposed to be off doing her business. But there she was bouncing around it trying to make friends.

OPs snake is a milk snake, grayish/silver with reddish spots.
should have a checkered flag looking belly scales.
