outdoor rifle range, lower bucks
anyone know of a range you can shoot rifle rounds at, within say 20-25 mins of Bristol? Was going to just head out to Wicen's at some point, but I was hoping to find something closer.
I know I can shoot 25 yards at some indoor ranges, but I was hoping to do better.
I know there's a couple of rod and gun clubs around here, but I was hoping to shoot sooner than later; not having to wait a month or two to complete a membership. There's a couple state game lands, but I believe one is closed, and either way they're both up there in Bucks, so it's probably around the same travel time as going out to Wicen's.

If the two week or so wait to join a rod and gun club is too much for you, then I'm afraid Wicen's is your only alternative, legally.

For most clubs I have been a member(5), monthly meetings bring members in. So, most likely, you are applying a few weeks near the next meeting to be voted into.

LRGC is in Holland, and meets your distance specifications. There is a small indoor range but outside goes from 25 to 200 yds, lots of clay stations and an archery trail...1.5 miles I think. There are events of all sorts from serious to Zombie eradication parties. I joined just a few days ago after driving by and walking behind for 14 years. Since my youngest is showing good aptitude and enthusiasm for shooting it was only logical to join. Once we get the lay of the land she'll be joining the Junior Rifle Team. The local school district looked like they were going to call the cops on me for asking if a rifle team was possible so I retreated and joined LRGC. I love Wicin's and have been going there for 14 years now but economically Langhorne just makes more sense if we're going to start shooting weekly. Plus now I can sidle on in there and show them how to shoot.

Re: outdoor rifle range, lower bucks
yeah i looked into that one a while ago, but it was just after the date of the first meeting, and i'd still have to wait another couple months... and of course, just looked it up and yet again I just missed the first meeting last week, which makes it about 3 months then till I could start shooting... grr.
ah well, I think it would be better economically too, and you get to know a bunch of new people too, so I'll probably check it out on the meeting next month. in the mean time I guess, I'm just gonna have to hit Classic Pistol and Wicen's.

Yeah, ya missed it by a few days. Go for it next month.....the month is going to happen whether you join or not. There is also the Falls Gun Club. I don't know as a fact but I heard their not bringing in new members, which I heard from a member who isn't too bright. That one is even closer to you.

According to Falls website they have a membership cap of 1100 members, are full, and have a looooooooong waiting list.

Falls Rifle and Pistol is not taking new members at this time. I believe we are going to take in some new members around August. Get an application and send it in.

I you shoot black rifles, I would strongly suggest you consider Langhorne Rod and Gun Club.
