Default Woman passes driver's exam on 950th try

Buddy of mine sent me this..if it takes you 950X to pass a test then I don't think you should be doing what the test grants you to do.

If at first you don't succeed...

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) - A woman in South Korea who tried to pass the written exam for a driver's license with near-daily attempts since April 2005 has finally succeeded on her 950th time.

The aspiring driver spent more than 5 million won ($4,200) in application fees, but until now had failed to score the minimum 60 out of a possible 100 points needed to get behind the wheel for a driving test.

Cha Sa-soon, 68, finally passed the written exam with a score of 60 on Wednesday, said Choi Young-chul, a police official at the drivers' license agency in Jeonju, 130 miles (210 kilometers) south of Seoul.

Police said Cha took the test hundreds of times, but had no specific total. Local media said she took the test 950 times.

Now she must pass a driving test before getting her license, Choi said.

Repeated calls to Cha seeking comment went unanswered. She told the Korea Times newspaper she needed the license for her vegetable-selling business.

For those of you who have never been to Korea, the word Dangerous doesn't even come close to how bad drivers are. You guys think NJ or some other densely populated area has bad, horrible, dangerous drivers, Go to South Korea and ride in a taxi for 1 hour. You'll have a whole new appreciation and will be thankful to drive in any place and in any situation here in the states.

Unmarried males under the age of 21? eta: One need look no farther than who pays the highest insurance premiums to find the worst drivers.

Youve got a point there - ans most of us fit that category at one time or another. Guess with all that I travel and winding up in a rental car in some different city, I was being more general in the feeling of 1) driving 45 in the left lane, or 2) left (right) turns from the furthest lane, or 3) Yield - WTF is yield?, 4) figuring out how to pull into a parking space.... Im sure you get the picture. On the other hand, unmarried males under 21 seem to have a singular problem - acceleration and speed (at least I did). The good part is they can park, turn, (yield doenst matter as they are usually waaaay in front anyway - back to the speed thing)....
