Question New Orleans carry - have you done it?

I have an upcoming trip to New Orleans on my schedule adn am planning on CC while Im there. From what i can see on various boards (handgunlaw, etc.) my PA, FL, adn NH licenses are all good there, and a couple of differences from pa (such as immediately inform LEO - stay out of establishments that serve alcohol, etc.) apply there.

What Im confused on is there has been "chatter" of "Parish" licenses.... are there any special rules that y'all are aware of that Im missing, especially in New Orleans?

Thanks in advance for any advice you may be able to lend here.

I believe in louisiana you cannot be armed in a church or graveyard, perhaps that clears it up.

We do have statutory reciprocity with Louisiana.

Here are the Louisiana concealed carry laws you must abide by while there.

I am sure it will be fine unless it rains a lot... if you encounter particularly stormy weather on your journey, just make sure you GTFO... they like to confiscate guns when it rains.

Thanks for the resource HiredGoon.... I hadn't seen that before (rep incoming). I did see that PA had reciprocity with LA - what got me confused was some "chatter" on Louisianan boards about "parish licenses", something that makes you wonder what other "rules" are going to creep up.

As for ehidle's advice about getting out if it rains lots - Im ALL about that (thanks for that tip)!

I guess for some reason they call their counties "parishes" a French or Cajun thing I imagine.
And maybe the sheriff (or head law guy, whatever he's called) of the parish issues the gun permits/licenses? I'm not really familiar at all with this, just Googled for the info I posted.

    Thanks, for the rep

Ah yes, the classic "Highlander bill." If you engage in combat on sacred ground your weapon will shatter to pieces.

    There can be only one...

My not so pleasant experience during a Mardi Gras in the not too distant past...KEEP YOUR LICENSE RIGHT WHERE YOU CAN GET AT IT.

If the police see a print you will either be face first on the pavement or slammed up against a building until they see it...so make it easy for them to get at it...since your hands will either be in cuffs or those damn plastic restraints.

It's gotta be that old French jurisprudence; you ARE considered to be carrying illegally until it is proven otherwise.

To my advantage, nobody could seem to figure out how to actually remove the weapon from my holster, so it did stay there.
"...a REPUBLIC, if you can keep it."
