Walmart Quakertown
My first OC in a public store.
I stopped at Walmart Quakertown the other day on a quest for some 9mm (hahaha). Walked in through the garden center, went to sporting goods, checked the ammo case (growing cobwebs). Asked the clerk if they had anything, any idea when, etc etc.
On my way out I picked up a few things in the garden center when a little old lady (emplyee) came up to me.
Clerk: Excuse me, is that a gun
me: Yes it is.
Clerk: Oooooooo I don't think you can have that in here.
me: Are you sure? I'm pretty sure it's allowed.
Clerk: I don't know.
me: You should check with your store manager. I'd be happy to talk with him if you'd like. I'll leave if you really want me to. But I just want to grab a bag of fertalizer and I'll be on my way (practically standing in front of it)
Clerk: Oh, we have some there, and there's some over there too (other side).
She then walked away. Don't know if she went for a manager. I was in a hurry and didn't stick around. Paid for my stuff, cashier was especially friendly for walmart. So 2 out of 3 employees I interacted with said nothing about me carring.
Afterwards I stopped at Lowes to return something. No incedents.Last edited by tlgpa; May 31st, 2009 at 08:51 PM.

She would know if Recon strolled through there.
Good for you. If you backed off firearms would probably be banned by misconception.
Walmart is private property. So much private property in this country that if they owned any more you wouldn't be able to carry when you left the right of way of the street. They should be viewed almost the same as the government. We need to make sure they respect our rights. My local florist? Not so much, I'll respect her rights and deal with the issue like I would any friend.

Re: Walmart Quakertown
I've been to the one in Quakertown several times with no issues. Our vet, and the only place we could find pure vegetable glycerin (don't ask) and the right kind of B 12 for the cat were down in that direction.
If you don't know who your state legislators are go here:

put your zip plus 4 in the box in the upper right hand corner.
