Re: Pravda: "American capitalism gone with a whimper"
Wait.. people here are actually agreeing with Pravda? This is like a hobo complaining that my apartment is messy..
The only thing that keeps Russia from falling into the abyss of chaos is their oil stockpile..
Oy...
If America had Russia's oil reserves, The world would be a much.. MUCH.. Different place.. We should have let Patton do what he wanted to do.. lol

Re: Pravda: "American capitalism gone with a whimper"
Look, I don't want to defend everything Pravda says, but there's a kernel of truth in what he's saying.
Is it gospel? No. Is it completely off the mark? No.
If anyone would know the failures of Marxism, the Russians might have a clue. The corruptions pointed out in our society do exist. Just sayin' ............The real answer is 42.

"gone with a whimper..."
Sort of like how the Iron Curtain fell about 19 years ago.

Re: Pravda: "American capitalism gone with a whimper"
So we are quoting Pravda now? really? That article is beyond stupid. The products my company produces sell for the price that the market will pay. How about where you work? Same? Hmmmm. Some Marxist system huh?
Bank Bailout + Auto Bailout + Stimulus Bailout = stupid policy and a huge waste of money but it does not equal Marxism.
I sure do wish that some of you ladies would actually talk to people who actually loved under Soviet rule so you can learn that comparing us as such is like comparing Cancun to the dark side of the moon. Hey, they both have sand!
Why do you all have so little faith in this great country? Do you pass on such defeatist attitudes to your children?

Re: Pravda: "American capitalism gone with a whimper"
Oh, yes, strong central leadership. Another word for that is tyranny. Look at opposition political parties in Russia, look at independent media. Of course, you could only do so in a historical sense, as there is neither in any meaningful sense today.
If you read and understand our constitution, you can grasp why, if followed, it ensures the preservation of liberty. It doesn't allow "strong central leadership" beyond those specific functions defined therein for the Federal government. Strong central government is antithetical to individual liberty. Sooner or later, "strong central government" promising stability, order, and the welfare of children & those in need will crush all freedom, or as much as it can get away with. Our constitution is special, because it promises order WITHOUT needing a strongman or controlling Party at the helm of a strong, central authority.
Sorry for going off-topic, that just set me off a bit.
