Default Artsy Photographs of Uncommon Firearms (no 56k)

    Hello,

Thought I'd share some recent aquisitions of mine. Photographs taken with my Canon Rebel XT with a Sigma 18-56mm lens.

1941 SVT-40, fluted chamber, AVT-40 stock. Given by the bluing on the adjustable gas plug, nearly unfired.

Damn accurate. 4" group at 100 yards the first time I had it out.

D-technik (Czech) made VZ61 semiauto. I love this gun and had always wanted one since I first saw it. Found some inexepensive .32acp and it seems everything I run through it works 100%. The accuracy is first rate, with a fixed barrel. Easy to hit a water heater at 105 yards.

    Doh! No exif.

Nice use of a shallow depth-of-field on #4, what was the setting?

I only have one Sigma lens, but it's nice for a cheapie.
While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

I was working with between f/3.2-4.5. It's been quite a good lens, I choose it mainly because it can do Infra-Red photography. The lesser quality lenses seem to have a coating that makes a very noticeable hot-spot "dot" in the middle of the exposure. The Sigma will with long exposures. I still haven't figured out color yet, but this is the result of infra-red in black and white:

^Nice! I've never worked with IR, but I've always liked the results!

I'm surprised at your aperture settings. Judging by the shallow DOF, I might have guessed something in the area of 1.8 - 2.8.

My fastest lens is 1.4... now THAT is tight!

Again, nice job. I think both arms are fantastic, but the last 2 pics are my favorites.

While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.
