Default Well dressed OC vs dressed down

Looking through posts and trying to interpret some of them it seems that what society deams as "well dressed" OCers seem to raise much less concern than those who are "dressed down". Surely someone wearing khaki slacks with a shirt and tie is far safer than someone wearing shorts and a tank top society seems to believe. Do you think people assume OCers who are "well dressed" are cops? Also do you agree with this at all? Thanks,Brian

Most people would not consider me well dressed, although I do try to dress neatly and in clean clothes - mostly jeans and a T shirt. Let's just say no one from GQ magazine has contacted me. More than likely, if anyone is going to contact me about the way I dress, it is going to be the people from What Not to Wear. But I OC almost everywhere. I think is it attitude and bearing more than clothing.

T-shirt tucked into my jeans and a belt. That's usually the extent of my OC dress.

I think it comes down to your actions. If you act confident and unconcerned, you attract much less attention than if you act nervous and shady. However, If you wear old BDU pants and a Misfits t shirt ( one of my fav outfits,BTW) you can expect to get more attention than if you were dressed more conservatively.

Today I wore blue jeans (no holes, rips or tears), what used to be called sneakers (although now I think they're "running shoes"?), a plaid flannel shirt (tucked into the jeans, sleeves rolled up) and a U.S. ARMY RETIRED baseball cap. My Hi-Point 9mm was in its Fobus holster on my right hip.

OCed at Lowes in Indiana (actually White Township) and a Betty Lou's just outside of Commodore. No questions or looks from anybody.

Ties, kahkis, dress shirts, What are these alien things you speak of?

Jeans, t-shirts, work boots, and OC here, Never had an issue.

BTW, I do not own a tie, or suit!

I haven't had an issue, but my town is super that way.

I agree that attitude is big. I walk confidently and act like OCing is...well...legal!

I've worn the following: T-shirts, polo shirts, button-up shirts, khakis, jeans, cargo shorts, tennis shoes, work boots, dress shoes...combinations of the above is how I usually roll.

And absolutely no popped collars. A popped collar is RAS in my book and a reason to be driven into the ground.
