Default Colt LE 6940 And The "Chair" How Ammo Leads To A Colt.

Well, I have been stocking up on Russian Golden Tiger for a little while and wanted to stop today and pickup a few more cases so that I don't have to worry about running out. I like to shoot, and with the on and off again availability of good 7.62x39 and heavy .223 and 5.56 ammo, I don't want to be stuck in a spot where I cant enjoy my firearms.

So, I go to pick up some ammo and while trying to work out numbers on the ammo I keep fondling the new Colt 6940 which I had written off due to a couple of things I wasn't crazy about and the fact that I already have a couple LMT MRP rifles... So I see that they have dropped the price a few hundred dollars and closer to market and what I think is fair for the rifle. Well, finally I make the owner an offer of "X" for the rifle and "X" for the ammo OTD. He makes me wait it out for 15 minutes or so and then gives the green light on my offer.

This is the newest Colt LE6940 that followed me home. It is everything you would expect in a Colt and a very nice rifle. I am go to change the stock and add a mount on the bottom rail so that I can get a FUG out farther than the short rail offers... I really like the new rear sights they used and the folding front has grown on me and offers a great sight pic.

Here are a few pics of the newest EBR

I know the feeling, I stopped in last week to transfer a pistol I'd sold to someone (swapped it for a Sig 556 actually) and left with a 6940 and a bunch of other stuff. It's a great rifle, I mounted an Eotech on it today and zeroed it........was hitting bowling pins at 100 -125 yards with it in no time.

It is a great rifle! My 6920 is very accurate and I don't expect anything less from the 6940...

I am sure it will be as accurate as the shooter and the ammo that is fed.

I didn't actually, felt loose and worn out at the range and it hit about a foot low at 25 yards with the front site adjust full down and a non adjustable rear site. The sites on it appeared to be HK style sights and that was likely the problem. I took it to Cabela's yesterday when I left the range and swapped it for one of the 556 HOLO setups which seems much nicer. I haven't shot the new one yet though.

Yeah, I guess I haven't done a AR family photo... I think I should wait until I turn my Sig P556 into a SBR. So that will be a little while until I do the paperwork....

Not sure if they will get under 1500 but I think they will get close... When you look at a 6920, if it gets down to the 1200 range and then you figure into that the cost of a rail its probably not far off...

It needs a rail extender and new stock, other than that it is an excellent rifle. I don't mind the flip fronts and MATECH

Yeah, it might be a while but i just saw a guy selling a few of them for $1550 shipped. So, it might not be too long.

    Again, congrats on your purchase.
