.22 rimfire
Ok, a dumb question from Knight..
What is .22lr going for these days?
I haven't bought any in many years, never even bothered to look. I stocked up about 30K back in the early-mid '90s and have been shoot it since, down to my last 1000 or so.
Last I bought was $0.89 for a box of 50, $7.99-$8.50 for a brick/carton of 500.

Re: .22 rimfire
well the only place i can find it consistantly in gander mountain here in york. and pricing. and the pricing is kinda like pot you have the dirty rounds that are $1.99/50 then you have the high priced CCI for $7.99/100 and then you have the midi's inbetween.
the $2/50 box have feeding and ejecting problems in my 10/22. the federal bulk pack i think is the best deal i think it was $24/550rds which is pretty good its alot more expensive than it used to be. but it is the only rounds i can afford to shoot :-) and the federal rounds i get one problem out of 200 shots through my 10/22
i was just reading the thread "marijuana" that compares guns to marijuana prohibition. :-) just another comparison ......

Re: .22 rimfire
I can’t even find any “550” boxes of .22 LR. Last time I bought them they were $8.99 about a year and a half ago. I think it’s outrageous at $15.00. They are only .22’s

Re: .22 rimfire
How timely, I think it was CNBC that just did a multi-hour story on pot growing in Cali and the state-level-legal medicinal uses - despite what the Feds say.
A gagillion dollar underground business in the PRC that could absolutely help that state out if it were above ground, so to speak.
There is even an "Amsterdam"-like area in Oakland where you can walk in off the street with a Dr.'s script and buy what you want.
Given the financial issues this country is facing, I think it is high (pun intended) time the Feds enact the 1934 Marijuana Tax Act and "sell" legal grower's passes to those who want them.
And also lift the the May 86 MG ban and allow us to F1 our semi's to FA again.
That's an easy $200.00/pop for hundreds of thousands of us - and to stay on topic; my WASR-22 would be a hoot to shoot WalMart CCI MMags at $9.00/100 in full-auto.

Re: .22 rimfire
15.00 is the cheapest way to go to the range now days. Just think of the cost of .223 or 7.62x39. How bout the price of hand gun ammo. 20 bucks (if your lucky) for a hundred rounds of 9mm.
Hell even a 100rds of bird shot and a box of clay is going to cost you close to thirty bucks.
