    Default Allegheny Sheriff's Office Misinformation

I went down to the sheriffs office today with my girlfriend for her to apply for her LTCF, that went fine. But as I was sitting out in that little waiting room I started to read all the signs on the wall.
Most of them are incorrect by mentioning "permit" instead of license...no big deal there, just semantics.
But, there was one bigger sign there that was a "message" from William Mullen, the sheriff himself, that must have mention concealed carry permit three times. Never once did it say carry license or LTCF. What's the deal with that? This is just another case of misinformation regarding out LTCFs....

Was there a date on that paper? If I remember correctly, that is what they were called a long long time ago. I am pretty sure that my first was a Conceal Carry Permit". I think the laws were changed in the mid 90's. The terminology most likely changed then. The Sherrif needs to update his docs.

Maybe it means Mullen is a 2A-hating moron?

It's not that old. It had Mullen's name and signature on it. He only came into office...what 3 years ago?

"I just want to make it more difficult to get a gun in Allegheny County," said acting Sheriff William Mullen.
Since he's the Sheriff and definitely knows that most violent crimes are committed by criminals that don't bother applying for an LCTF before carrying a gun concealed, he must have another agenda.

When I got my first permit/license in 1981, it said "License to Carry Firearms" on it but everyone at the Sheriff's office called it a "permit."

Well 1981 is when I got my first license too in York county. I guess I may be imagining things. Getting old sucks. Did you retain the old license or a copy of it?

What does yours say now? My York County permit says License To Carry Firearms.

While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

I have it somewhere, stuck in the back of a drawer with old drivers licenses.
