Default Ammo Sales Restricted after June 30th, 2009

You might want to send this to all your hunting buddies
    family & friends.

Nobody can sell any ammunition after June 30, 2009

    It has already started....

    Ammunition Accountability Legislation

Remember how Obama said that he wasn't going to take
    your guns? Well, it
seems that his allies in the anti-gun world have no problem
    with taking your
    ammo!

The bill 20 that is being pushed in 18 states (including Illinois and
Indiana ) requires all ammunition to be encoded by the
    manufacture a data
base of all ammunition sales. So they will know how much
    you buy and what
    calibers.

Nobody can sell any ammunition after June 30, 2009 unless
    the ammunition is
    coded.

Any privately held uncoded ammunition must be destroyed by
    July 1, 2011.
    (Including hand loaded ammo.)

They will also charge a .05 cent tax on every round so
    every box of ammo you
buy will go up at least $2.50 or more!

If they can deprive you of ammo they do not need to take
    your gun!

This legislation is currently pending in 18 states:
    Alabama , Arizona ,
    California , Connecticut , Hawaii , Illinois , Indiana ,
    Kentucky , Maryland
    , Mississippi , Missouri , New Jersey , New York ,
    Pennsylvania , Rhode
Island , South Carolina , Tennessee , and Washington .

Send to your friends in these states AND fight to dissolve
    this BILL!!

To find more about the anti-gun group that is sponsoring
    this legislation
and the specific legislation for each state, go to:

Well.... the PA bill is from Feb 2008. IT's gotta be dead by now. They don't carry over from one session to the next.

    You're safe for now....

I'll have to see about that..no doubt they'd like to but those dates seem awful fast...it is the US government after all...

Yeah that is a bit ambitious to have a June 30th date on bills that have not even come close to passing yet.

This is the kind of bullsnot that has lead to the panic buying we are currently enduring. It's bad karma, IMHO.

This won't happen at the Federal level (it'll never clear the house) and it'll never happen in PA, absent a titanic shift in the makeup of the legislature in conjunction with a bunch of PA congresscritters who want their current term to be their last.

But I'm certain that people will read it and proceed to go out and make the ammo shortage worse.

I'm not much of a "negative rep" guy, but with all respect to the OP I thought about it in this case.

    Yep.

Sorry Bro, but we've been reading about "encoded ammo" for a long time and it's just feelgood bullsht that'll never pass.

I've always been a pretty paranoid guy, and I'm not saying we need to be lax but I'm just about sick of reading about the sky falling every day since Obama got into office.

If we had a PAFOA suggestion box I'd suggest filters so I could block threads like this.

I second what P-11 said. I will write letters and pay attention to legislation. But the what if and this could happen things make me want to bust out the tin foil. It is already hard enough to have a life and keep up with things. I guess this is a personal characteristic for myself. I am all about being proactive but a line comes somewhere. For me the line is current pending legislation and education about pro-a2 to others, beyond that I try to stay away for the what ifs and the could happen. To stay in the now and play it forward just enough to know where im (and things) are head is the balance that keeps me feeling good while still doing my part.

can somebody please delete this crap. This is the whole reason why there is no ammo. Stuff like this doesn't just sit around for months and then finally get passed. especial when it's gun related. It either passes right away or it's dead.

It's been said several times that congress has no interest in passing more gun legislation now or anytime in the near future. They know that if they try it they will most likely pay with their jobs because I think people are more worried about their bottom line than bullet casing having codes on them. The whole Idea of ammunition coding is completely ridiculous anyway. The criminal will simply pick up their shell casing, and the chance of someone being able to read a code off of a bullet is pretty much nil.

    rant over

Yes it is people like the OP that gets what is already bad into a worse situation and that situation is already hard to find AMMO. They have been talking about "Encoding Ammo" for a while. So to the OP stop the postings of things that will never occur..PLZ

Where are these people coming from? Is this what is being discussed in bars after a few? beers. No wonder there's panic buying. It's Johnny Carson saying there's a shortage of toilet paper, all over again.
