Re: Firearms Lawyer needed in West Chester, PA
Does it specifically stipulate no firearms in your lease agreement?

You'll need more of a civil lawyer than a firearms/criminal lawyer.

Re: Firearms Lawyer needed in West Chester, PA
Nothing in the lease regarding firearms or ammunition. Am not violating any fire code rules. He only saw empties, nothing else.

Re: Firearms Lawyer needed in West Chester, PA
Spoke today with GunLawyer and he was very helpful in letting me know my rights.
There is nothing in the lease as to cannot own firearms, reload, etc. etc.
The police were called and they then called him to let him know that he was not within his rights to remove my items. This was after seeing EMPTY casings ONLY (deprimed/resized).
His email:

Re: Firearms Lawyer needed in West Chester, PA
I think there was a discussion in another thread some time ago regarding this type of situation. Correct me if I'm wrong, but couldn't the landlord be found in violation of the OP's civil rights?
I know the bit about private property and all, but I think there comes an exception when leasing property for the purpose of making it your domicile.
Then again, IANAL. That's why we have GL around here!

What a NIGHTMARE. Another reason why I hate renting.
If you don't mind my asking, what was he doing in your apartment in the first place? What was he doing in there when he spotted your reloading materials?

Re: Firearms Lawyer needed in West Chester, PA
really i dont think u are doing anything that violates the contract lease agreement.. once you sign it thats final if it dont say nothing about firearms on it he cant put it in effect. so u can take it to court and sue him . he will have to get a lawyer to force you to do what he wants and that will take time....

Re: Firearms Lawyer needed in West Chester, PA
Ever since the police called him, I haven't heard a peep from him.
I had been reloading the previous night. He didn't email me to say that he has an apointment with someone to show the place (my lease is up the 31st). So I didn't cover up my reloading table and there are a few hundred deprimed/resized .223 and .45. NO LIVE AMMO.
The next day at 2pm, he emails and says I am going at 3 to show your place, to which I respond and say NO, you can't. He says, I have to show it, so I'm going. He goes and comes in, sees the table.
The next day at noon, he sends that email. He also sends an email to my ex who was living with me but moved out and says "I saw potential loaded ammo. Does he have any firearms?" She and I had a mutual breakup and she told me about it.
So then this whole situation ensues and I call the cops on him.
The next battle will be getting my deposit back. I plan on cleaning the place up and leaving it in a "rentable condition" and returning it as it was received. Pictures will be taken, and I probably will have to take this guy to small claims court to get my money back.

Don't bother cleaning it, you won't get your deposit back. If you do clean it, take plenty of pictures to show the judge.
