Hello all,

a co-worker has a Mossberg 12 gauge 500 AG that hes looking to sell me. He said hes owned it since the late 80's or early 90's (he wasn't sure) , and has only took it out shooting clays once.

he dug it out of his closet and the stock is in good shape, no major scratches or dings in it. The barrel has a few small surface rust spots, but it isn't to bad either.

It has a fixed mod choke (not the removable type) and is chambered for 2 3/4 - 3" shells.

I have three questions.

1- How much is it worth? I tried to do some research online and it seems like they go for around $150 - 200, but how much should i offer? I don't want to over pay, but this is a friend so i don't want to under pay either.

2- is this gun a better buy than the mavrick 88 (walmart special) i've seen them for $180 on sale.

3- Will i have a hard time finding a slug barrel for either the mavrick or the 500 ag?

If you can answer any of these q's id be grateful!

Thanks!

~Garrick
