2 Yellowstone workers fired after watering geyser

CHEYENNE, Wyo. – Two seasonal Yellowstone National Park concession workers have been fired after a live webcam caught them urinating into the Old Faithful geyser.

Park spokesman Al Nash says a 23-year-old man on Tuesday was fined $750 and placed on three years of unsupervised probation for urinating, being off trail in a restricted area and taking items from the area. The man also was banned from Yellowstone for two years.

The second employee's case is pending.

The park's dispatch center was called after someone watching a webcam on the geyser saw six employees leaving the trail and walking on Old Faithful on May 4.

The geyser was not erupting at the time. [ ]

Xanterra Parks & Resorts general manager Jim McCaleb says the former concession workers were hired at the Old Faithful Inn and that such incidents were rare.

Exactly my thoughts as well.

At my age now, I can see what is inherently wrong with it. But, if I was half my age I'd probably do it. Throw in a couple beers or some shots, or something, I am fairly certain I would have done it Shoot, I may have done up to, maybe, ten years ago if .... well, nevermind.

Even if he would have to explain the arrest to a potential employer it would not be too bad. "Well Sir, you see, me and five friends had this summer job at Yellowstone, 3 cute girls...". Yeah, I could explain that, may even help if the Interviewer was an attractive female, preferably a little older, cougarish, if you will. ""Actually Ma'am, the girl I was with, she kind of reminded me of you..."

Went skiing at Jackson Hole. And while there, we did the Snowmobile Ride thru Yellowstone up to Old Faithful and got to watch it go off in the middle of winter.

On the way back we stopped and checked out various other hot springs. I made a snowball and threw it into one of the hot springs, and got yelled at. The rangers said that the springs were very delicate and that you shouldn't mess with them.

I thought, what the heck happens when it snows??????
