how do you sit while carrying?
Okay guys. I am new to the ccw thing. I have been tucking my gun in the small of my back, iwb, and can't figure out how to sit in a restaraunt without adjusting it or removing it to drive. How do you guys do it?

Re: how do you sit while carrying?
I carry mine at 4:00 IWB, and have pretty much stopped noticing it. It becomes automatic to sit with your bum a little forward and then lean back into the seat, and/or to turn the body slightly to the left. Being a pudgy guy, those postures look pretty natural. If I were rail-thin, it might look strange.

Re: how do you sit while carrying?
You've pretty much answered your own question. Most people find that carrying SoB is uncomfortable. The problem is sitting. There is very little to remedy the situation. The other downside to this style of carry is the risk of serious injury if you fall on your back/pistol.
Never underestimate the value of early training.

Re: how do you sit while carrying?
Hey cznut,
After trial and error, I find that what works best for me is carrying my gun inside the waistband strong side at 3:00. Any other way does not work for me at all! Also it's always comfortable when I'm sitting, standing, driving, lying down, eating, etc.
I'd say my build is slender to medium, and I would also consider myself an extremely good looking guy, lol, just kidding, and sometimes I wear my t-shirts tight but not too tight, and no one ever seems to notice that I'm carrying a weapon.
Carrying in the small of my back is probably the most uncomfortable in my experience, and it's especially hard on my spine.
Take care,

Simple. Carry OWB and don't worry about it.

Re: how do you sit while carrying?
I usually sit by bending my knees and waist untill my ass hits the chair. I find it works well that way. I carry primarily iwb 3:00 strong side.
Sorry i had to do it. SOB never worked for me either being a fat guy my glock 26 disappears. I got a bad case of plumbers crack so SOB isnt an option at all.

Re: how do you sit while carrying?
IWB I carry at about 2:45 just a smidge to the front. with my Don Hume holster.
Lately, I've just been open carry, most comfortable of all.

I'm right handed, I carry in my front right pocket, no problems.
Chevmeister, loved your answer.

Re: how do you sit while carrying?
I sit like I would any other day?? I didn't know there was a different way to sit when you are wearing a gun. If you have to sit differently, you might want to reconsider some holster/gun options.
