XD accessories
I recently put money down on an Xd45. Is the holsters that come with them any good?

Re: XD accessories
It's OK for a range holster, but I wouldn't recommend it for "around town" carry.

Re: XD accessories
Even for range they suck, I have an XD 45 tactical, I would suggest you get a blackhawk serpa to start with,Very good retention,Yes it is kydex but alot better then the holster you get with the sidearm..I also have a Don Hume open top leather holster for it..Just my .02 of course.

Re: XD accessories
The one that comes with it is a Fobus.

Re: XD accessories
Unfortunately, no. I don't know why they bother.
The mag pouches are at least useful but too bulky. The holster is junk box material.
Oh, and the XD45 -- is a great gun. They definitely got that part right. Get a decent holster for it and you will be happy. FWIW, I prefer leather and Galco as well as Don Hume have some good off-the-shelf options for the XD45.

Re: XD accessories
I spent about a year scouring the net for XD45 accessories. Here's what I've found
OC

http://safariland.com/product.aspx?pid=6360 (my OC choice)

CC

http://www.comp-tac.com/product_info.php?products_id=61 (my CC choice)
Lasers:
Any mountable laser/light combo can be secured to the rail, but I would pick a holster first and then pick the combo based on what the holster supports.
http://www.lasermax.com/category.php?id=7 (will not fit in newer XDs with flat barrel lugs)
http://www.crimsontrace.com/Home/Pro...7/Default.aspx
Replacement custom barrels:

Does anyone know if a holster that supports a laser/light combo, like the safarilands, requires it to be attached for the gun to fit securely? Or in other words, can you use a light bearing holster without the light?
As for the original XD holster, it's of no use if you're a lefty and has no security features like the ones listed above.

Re: XD accessories
Bought my XD 45 Tactical a few months ago.
The included holster is poor.
I bought the paddle holster from S/A. Not the first time I wasted money on a holster, probably not the last, either.
Bought the Crossbreed Supertuck. Works well.
The best holster, so far, is my belly band.
Enjoy the pistol. I do."Tolerance is the virtue of the man without convictions." G.K. Chesterton

Re: XD accessories
If you're a lefty you can call SA and give them the serial number of you pistol and they will send you a lefty holster for free.
