    Default Spikes 22lr Conversion Review

I decided to get a 22lr conversion kit for my bare stock Colt 6920 to cut down on ammo costs mainly for when my son is shooting it. After a lengthy wait for the conversion to arrive from Spikes, I got it a couple days ago. I proceeded to remove the factory Colt BCG and upon giving the 22lr conversion a very light coating of oil, it slid right into the upper receiver with no problems. I also got 2 high capacity Black Dog mags to go with the conversion kit. I loaded up the two mags with about 25 rounds each, although I think they hold a few more than that. The conversion kit ran flawlessly through those mag dumps. I didnt have time to shoot any more than those 2 mags but I'll follow up with an accuracy report next time I am at the range.

I love precisely machined pieces that do what they are designed for flawlessly....little works of art.

I love my Spikes conversion. I have over 2k rounds through it. I had problems with my first one the finish was coming off on the slides. I sent it back and they replaced it. My 2nd one had some issues after a nice polish to the feed ramp and chamber it runs great with federal bulk pack it hates all kinds of remingtons. If your ever been the the sgl 242 i shoot there alot. If u have been u might have seen me there with my RRA and conversion

I try to stop by SGL242 a couple times a month, was there this past week.

Price on the kit was the same as all the other conversion kits, about $200.
