First day of open carry. . .

Hello all. As some of you know I recieved my LTCF yesterday in Philadelphia.

SO yesterday I CC'd a small hamerless .357 mag S&W. No issues. No one, not even I at some points new I was carrying.

Today I strapped on my full size Beretta 92. I let my button down hang over it as I left. I was going to pick up lunch. I went into Bensalem, Bucks county to get lunch. As soon as I got there I thought why not just OC???

So I pulled over into a store, used there bathroom, as I was about to pull up my pant, I tucked in my shirt.

First time ever OCing. . .

I leave the stall, go to wash my hands. An older man is drying his hands. He takes a look, nothing wrong. I leave the restroom. A few older ladys do a double take as I walk out of the establishment. Nothing yet. . .

I go to get lunch at a sandwich shop. LOTS of cars in the parking lot. I go in, I can tell people take notice, but they acted like they saw nothing. I place my order, the whole time the ladys behind the counter are taking peeks at the Beretta. Everything went great though. Not one word about it. Thats all one can ask for!!

If there are any meets coming up I will gladly join if my schedule permits.

O yes, but I have a lot of experience with Glocks. I like everything about them. I want a .45acp. The Glock 30 is going to be my carry gun. I may get an XDM 9mm later on.

Welcome to the dark side. You'll find the button-up shirt and dress pants help the OC experience. I get far less looks than when I'm wearing cargo shorts and a t-shirt.

I like OC'ing my Gl-izz-n-ock from my ECHO pants, sagged around my ankles, with my TUPAC shirt and red bandanna on backwards.

I do it everywhere ...

I get a mixed bag of looks and occasional questions. Most people don't notice my rig until I am in line at a cashier. I prefer to OC . It is more comfortable and you have quicker access to your piece. I like to use a duty belt it is more better... lmao @ "more better" ... than other set ups I tried. When people ask me why I carry, I reference headlines of car jackings and robbery. I explain that while I am there they are at the safest store, gas station, etc.

Thats not the issue, I am supposed to be "on-call" this weekend. So I do not know if I can be that far away. After the 25th I start my new schedule of sunday-thursday, off friday and saturday.

I will see if I can get off work. If I can, I will know firday. In the chance of me going, I will gladly give my fellow Philadelphians a ride up. Please do not count on me yet though. I will know friday if its a go.
