Default Carry while doing lawn work

Am I the only person here that does this? Where I live in Toon Town is right on what I call the edge of the red and green section. Behind me is all nicer homes, people that are quiet and keep to themselves. Across the street is the projects. Like anything else, most of the people are fine, but those few that do the typical "ruining it for everyone else" are quite bad. I mean, the stories I could tell some of you guys..... well I'd be here for two weeks straight typing up stories.

Anyway, back to the point. I honestly feel one of the most dangers times and when I'm most vulnerable is when I'm doing lawn work. From my own person encounters and from stories I've heard from others I'm not alone in feeling this way.

So, when I'm out doing lawn work...I have my .31 caliber cap and ball in my little holster inside my pants waistline concealed.

Ninja Edit : This is both for protection against people and drug dealer pit bulls that link to remove chunks of flesh from innocent people. I see stray dogs running all the time. Most are friendly... but ya never know ... someday.

You actually carry a blackpowder pistol for protection?
    Are you a prohibited person?

So long as you are not a prohibitted person, I recommend always having it with you. If we knew where trouble would find us, we would simply avoid it. Since we don't, and yes it could be your yard, you should be prepared for anything.

I always carry when I have pants on.

I was out detailing my car, Glock was on my hip, this afternoon. Came inside, pants came off (Woooo!) and the Glock went on my desk.

If the nearby neighborhood is less-than-desirable, then why not proudly open carry your sidearm while doing yardwork? If the less-than-desirable neighbors see you carrying, they'll make it known to stay away.
