Which out of state permit?
Which out of state permit/license give you the most coverage? What are the fees associated with these permits?
I usually wander around Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland (only Maryland permits are good there), Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Indiana and Illinois.

Re: Which out of state permit?
as of the last time i checked...(this stuff does change often as reciprocity changes)...
UT gets you the most additional states.
another popular option is FL which gets you nearly as many additional states.

Re: Which out of state permit?
i opted for UT over FL myself.
i haven't looked at the fees lately, but i do agree that it was cheaper a few years ago when i made the decision. (though in the first year, it was close because you had to take a particular course for UT...which cost extra money...while i could have satisfied FL's training requirement with courses i already had taken.)
plus you get all the states FL gives you plus 3 more (at least as of a few weeks ago).
and, further, i find FL's policy of not honoring other states' non-resident permits when they themselves are one of the biggest (if not the biggest) issuers of non-resident permits (that people generally get for the purpose of carrying in some state other than FL) to be the height of hypocrisy...and i would rather not support that.
but, some people find FL fits their needs better (the fact that they accept just about anything for their training requirement while UT requires you to take a specific class might lead some people to FL).F*S=k

Re: Which out of state permit?
Is there any way to carry in NJ and Maryland. Two of three states I travel to the most?
