Re: Conceal Carry Badge - Legal?
Thanks for the reply Gun.
And this from another person on a different forum, to close:
"I wear a CCW badge around my neck hidden under my shirt. If I'm ever defending myself in an active shooter situation, I certainly want a way for a responding cop (or another legal CCW holder) to make a split second decision in the right direction concerning my life. The only way a police officer is going to see that badge is if the crap has already hit the fan and I've pulled it out into the open."
See you on the long range. I'm gone.

Re: Conceal Carry Badge - Legal?
What's the chance of a CCW being shot by mistake during a mass shooting? Very small.
What's the chance of YOU being in a mass shooting? Practically nil.
So what's the chance of you being in a mass shooting AND being shot by mistake? About the same as the chance of being hit by a chunk of blue ice falling from the sky from an airliner. So yes, definitely, always wear that stupid CCW badge and a hardhat. You can't be too careful!

Re: Conceal Carry Badge - Legal?
The risk of carrying a gun and a badge that you bought off eBay, is that police will charge you with impersonating a police officer.
If you know the police have arrived, then that's the time to drop the gun and raise your arms while shouting "I'm a good guy" and pointing towards the bad guy.
And if you don't know the cop is there, then why are you showing him your badge?
Maybe carrying a fake badge 24/7 is better than being shot, but that's a false choice. Losing a foot is better than losing a hand, but if I can avoid both, I will.Attorney Phil Kline, AKA gunlawyer001@gmail.com

Re: Conceal Carry Badge - Legal?
My take on this is anyone can a get badge that looks official, even criminals.
So if I were responding to a shooting I would assess everyone, shiny badge or no shiny badge, and positively ID everyone before I let my guard down one millimeter."Having a gun and thinking you are armed is like having a piano and thinking you are a musician" Col. Jeff Cooper (U.S.M.C. Ret.)
