    Default CCP and background checks

I just read an online article where the author stated that (at least in his state) if one had a CC permit they did not have to pay for the background check at FFL dealers. His comment was in direct relation to his prior expense when manufacturers whould send him weapons to review.........now he takes advantage of this Savings.

is this the case in PA?

    ...and welcome to PAFOA!

While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

    No..

A LTCF is not an exemption from the background check in PA. Even LEO's are required to have a background check performed when buying a gun in PA.

I think the OP was refering to not having to pay for the background check.
And I believe you do still have to pay in PA, maybe not in the Authors home state though.

    Anyway welcome.

Yeah, having a LTCF or not makes no difference in the fee for the PICS check when purchasing a firearm in PA.

Federal law that establishes the requirement for instant check on firearms purchases (the Brady law) does indeed have an exception for license holders.
    Ref: 18USC922(t)(3)(i)

Pa. is one of the few states that refuses to honor the exception.
Another thing to demand your representatives fix.
