Getting started in Competitive Pistol Shooting
I am looking to try my hand at competitive Pistol Shooting.
I am a member of PMSC and they Hold a Monthly USPSA Matach that I think I will try in June
I am looking to use my Sig 226 Blackwater Tactical as it is a really nice pistol with good sites and a really nice trigger.
Only thing is I do not want to shot open division. I was looking for Production or maybe Limited.
Is this new Sig on the Production list if not What are the chances it will be put on the production list.
Is there anything I can do to make it production complaint change grips. Get different Magazines.
If the number of rounds is caped can I still use the 4/20 round mags with less rounds loaded or Will I have to buy different mags.
will it fit into the box with the extended mags.
the features of the Sig 226 Blackwater Tactical are as follows,

Re: Getting started in Competitive Pistol Shooting
The Sig Blackwater is on the Production list, but I THINK you need the regular grips without the magwell to be compliant.
http://www.uspsa.org/rules/production_list.php
In Production you can use high cap mags downloaded to 10 rounds (Production rule). I'm not sure about your mags if they are extended, but you are probably going to want to buy 1-2 more since you can see 32 rounds on a USPSA course and you can only load 10 in the mags.
You can shoot that gun in Limited Division but 9mm is scored Minor and will put you at a significant disadvantage there.

Re: Getting started in Competitive Pistol Shooting
Thanks for the info I was reading the rules and saw the grip thing and was wondering if I am going to need to get sig factory groups or will these work
http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct...tNumber=734847
they are the same shape and size as factory groups but rubber. or should I just get the factory grips
and with the mags i was looking at getting some aftermarket Mec-Gar because I hear the function well and are half the price of factory sig mags. Should I get the 10rd or 15rd
