Any thoughts on setting up a " Bartering Thread " ?
I wanted to bring it here first .
DC Daltons Thread the other day about passing on the local foods on sale as a way to help out members , plus the " Pay it Forward " Thread got me thinking .
Whats everyone think about the idea of a " Barter Thread " where members could negotiate trades of goods /services during the difficult economy ?
Maybe you need a plumber to replace some rusting pipes , and I need someone to redo some drywall/spackle .
Maybe someone needs new cable/data wiring run , and doesnt want to DIY or pay Communist Cast to do it and the guy that can needs a tune up on his ride .
Maybe your a math whiz , or another type of teacher that doesnt mind tutoring , but you want to learn advanced shooting skills or gunsmithing or something .
Maybe whatever anyone can work out with each other
Point being , with the economy so bad, and not likely to get better for at least a couple more years , we could all maybe help each other out by trading /bartering goods and services within our little community .

I could be mistaken (cause I'm old) but, I think there is a thread floating around here somewhere about this very thing.

I don't know about fine wine and scotch being I don't drink, although, there are definitely some things that get better with age.
A few that come to mind. One is being a bitch. I've gotten much better at being a bitch since I've gotten older (cranky old bitch). Another is impatience. I've gotten much better at being impatient as I'm aging. Another is peeing. I've gotten much better at peeing as I'm aging. Because isn't peeing more often.......better? I've also gotten much better at shopping. I buy ben gay, aspirin, immodium, citrucel, one a day's for the mature woman, epsom salt, oil of olay anti wrinkle cream, hair dye, denture cream, and moth balls (old people always have to smell like moth balls). Because buying more is........better!
So, I guess you're right! Being old (seasoned) is better!

DC setup a separate site for this last fall but I don't know if it took off. http://helpingkind.org/

I believe there may in fact be a thread for this already somewhere on the forum. It seems to ring a bell.
