    Default Certified Mossburg Armorer.

I am a certified Mossburg 500/590 Armorer. I am willing to do parts replacement style repairs to your shotgun, if you get the parts. No other cost involved. I want the practice.

IM me here if you need help.

Where did you go for the certifacation? My son has shown some interest in learning?

What would it take to turn my 590 into a 590A1? Just curious...

NRA headquarters, where Blackwater taught the course. It was a two-day course.

Some of the differences are the trigger group, which on an A1 is metal, and the heavier barrel. Both are, obviously, drop in pieces.

Your going to need to drop in the correct mag tube along with that barrel.

I'm pretty sure the mag tubes are the same, but the barrel is heavier.

The 500 has a push in nut in the tube and a thumb screw that holds the barrel on. The 590A1 has a cap that holds the barrel on and allows cleanout of the mag tube via unscrewing the cap and removing the rounds out of the front of the mag, you can then mop it out from end to end.

    I see your confusion. He asked about a 590 to 590 a1 conversion, not a 500 to 590 conversion.
