    Default Two .380 questions

    1. Does anyone beside Sig and Walther still manufacture .380 pistols, and, if so, which ones are the best?

    2. Sig P232 vs. Walther PPK. Anybody have experience with both of these weapons? Which, in your opinion, is the better weapon and why?

Ummmm. You do mean .380, right? Probably the only common .308 pistols would be the single shot T/C Contender/Encore.

Duh, yes. I had 308 on the brain from a previous Saiga thread. Hopefully a mod will come across this thread an be kind enough to edit the title for me.

I just bought a Bersa Thunder .380 from Gander on Saturday, but coudln't tell you how it shoots because the range at my clube was closed due to a class that wasn't on the calendar.

Ammo's hard to get though, but the deal on the used pistols...I thought they were very good. $199 for a stainless model that looked like it saw less than 50 rounds.

I've read good things about them, and it's got a really good feel in my hand for being so small.

i've shot both the Walther and the Sig P232. i own the Sig P232. they are both different to shoot and both have different feels to them. the Sig has a more Beefier grip and points more natually for me. the only con i have is that it has a Euopean mag release. the Walther has a slimmer profile, manual safety, american mag release for me it was a little harder to make quick followup shots.

    YMMV though.

    My only 2 complaints about the Walther PPK type guns is;

    1. hammer bite
    2. heavy for a gun it's size.

    I own both a Bersa thunder .380 and a Kel Tec P3AT.

The Bersa was my second gun I ever owned and the first gun I bought for concealed carry. It has been 100% from day one with both FMJ and JHP ammo.
I find it to be accurate and a decent range gun.
Since I bought it, I've come to realize there are other guns out there in the same size package that have a higher capacity and are chambered in a more powerful caliber.
Mags are also expensive if I recall.

The Kel Tec is pretty much my everyday gun.
It carries well in a Desantis Nemesis pocket holster and goes with my everywhere I go.
I did have some reliability issues with it from the beginning and after sending it back twice, getting a new barrel, new slide etc, customer service at Kel Tec made me a new gun with the same serial #.
It was a bit discouraging getting a lemon and having to jump through hoops, but the people at Kel Tec were always nice and I felt they went the extra mile.

After getting the "new" gun, it has been 100% with both FMJ and JHP ammo.
It is a pain to shoot though and pretty hard to handle.

As far as .380 goes, I like the caliber for the smaller pocket guns, but there are plenty of compact 9mm's that are roughly the same size as the Bersa, P232, PPK etc.
