EOTech 556

I'm looking into new optics and was hoping that someone had experience with the EOTech 556 and could provide some feedback before I place my order.

It's an eotech--it will be a great purchase. What are you looking to know? The 556 model is NV capable, it uses cr123 batteries--like in most combat type flashlights. It has the buttons on the left side so they are easier to access, it is raised in the front to allow clearance for m4 hand guards, it has the standard non magnified circle and dot. They are good and fast from 0yds to 200yds---maybe more but without magnification and my old eyes i wouldn't want to shoot regularly past 200yds.

I own a 551 model and love it. I plan to add a 516 model to my new colt. I love the eotechs. Hope that helps.

I'm looking to get the 517 model for my RRA Entry Tactical. I think the only difference is that it is NOT night vision compatible, but it has the buttons on the left side instead of in the back in case you want to mount a BUIS right behind it or put it on a Tactical carry handle like mine, then the buttons won't get in the way. They are ~$430.00, not too bad for an EOTech. AA batteries are a huge +

Might save up a little more though and get a Trijicon ACOG, I'd like to try one of these out to see if the front sight post gets in the way. If it does then I'll save $700.00 and get the EOTech 517.
