    Default kahr pistols?

I've been thinking of getting something like a Kahr P9 pistol for summer carry. I normally carry a Glock 23, but it's a little heavy, so I was thinking of getting a single stack 9mm. Not really interested in the Kel-Tecs. Whats everyone's thought on the Kahrs? How reliable/durable are they? What particular models do you guys like? I was thinking of going for the P9 or CW9.

Also, maybe you guys can recommend a similar pistol in the $500-700 range if your not a fan of the kahrs.

I'm a huge fan of the Kahr CW9 that my wife carries. Its an outstanding pistol in my opinion, accurate, manageable recoil, and a great size for carry. Little to big for Pocket Carry in my opinion though.
The first vehicles normally on the scene of a crime are ambulances and police cruisers. If you are armed you have a chance to decide who gets transported in which vehicle, if you are not armed then that decision is made for you.

Be prepared, because someone else already is and no one knows their intent except them.

Agreed. Kahr is a quality little pistol and a nice slim size. I almost just bought one but it only came with one magazine and an extra was 30 bucks.

    Thumbs up Re: kahr pistols?

I have the PM9 and love it, take it almost every where. I have a bum hand and it fits just perfect and not had any problems using it.

I have a Kahr P9 Covert.(no longer made but available used. 3.5" barrel)

This pistol is a P9 with a shorter grip (grip length equal to a PM9 IIRC).

My normal carry pistol is a Glock 23. Here are a few comparison pics.

I have a link to size and weight differences somewhere but don't have time right now to find it.

    I really like the Covert
I carry it in a Mitch Rosen Expressline IWB, pocket carry in a Kytac pockit lockit(Dave Elder) or ankle carry it in a Lou Alessi ankle rig or Desantis Apache ankle rig.

A friend of mine has the PM45 and even with the big .45 cal its still a nice and slim little gun. He carries it everywhere and his (new) bride has the 9mm version and likes it. If I were in the market, I'd consider one myself.

I have a CW9, after a few thousand rounds the trigger bar broke and Kahr replaced it with no problem. I'm a big guy with big pockets and have no problem with pocket carry of the CW9.

That said I wish I had sprung the few extra bucks for the P9, the CW9 can't have night sites put on, the P9 can, plus with the P9 you get an extra mag.

New forum member here. Howdy all!

I picked up a Karh PM9 2 weeks ago at Cabelas and ran 200 rounds thru it this past weekend. Awesome gun, flawless, no failures of any kind and it printed right on target.

I'm 5'8'' with relatively small hands (medium glove size). Recoil only became an issue at around the 150 round mark but easily able to finish the break-in in under an hour with no discomfort.

Trigger pull is very smooth. Based on my limited experience, this gun is an absolute keeper. Starting the holster search now...

Thanks. Probably good to go with one of the slimmer Colt models.
