Thumbs up Barber's Firearms - Perkiomenville

Today I stopped by Barber's Firearms on Salford Station Rd in Perkiomenville.

Small but very nice and well equipped shop... certainly a mom & pop and very nice people and I would suggest a must see stop for any one in SE PA.

I walked in (to the basement shop) and was pleasantly greated "Hi, I'm Chuck Barber can I help you..." of course I gave my standard answer... Thanks, just want to play the kid in the candy store... he laughed"

I was truly impressed, for such a small shop he has an extrodinary selection from entry level to VERY high end rifles and shotguns in stock and a somewhat small but certainly diverse selection of handguns.

He supplied the Colt New Agent that is currently "on the hook" at my gun club and I wanted to see it. No problem, within seconds my son and I were given the opportunity to handle a similar piece as he pointed out some of the finer points of the weapon to us.

Just a plane good experience. You walk in and you feel that you're in the home (actually) of a kindered spirit and someone who is warm and open enough, yet knowlegeable... to make the new feel comfortable and the old to feel kinship.

    +1 for Charles & Family.

I've bought guns from Charles at Harrisburg, Roulette, and most recently Centre Hall shows here in north and central PA. They are friendly, top-notch folks who are 125% customer focused.

Does he have regular store hours or is it by appointment? He is 5 minutes from my house and never knew he was there until I saw this thread a few weeks ago. I wanted to check out the place so I stopped there Saturday morning around 11:00 and the sign said closed. Was this likely due to the holiday weekend or just part of his normal schedule?

Thanks for any info you have.

According to the FFL list on GunBroker.com their hours are:

    M-F 10:00AM - 7:00PM
    Sat: 9:00AM - 5:00PM

Although being a holiday weekend, who knows. Smaller shops sometimes close if they head to a gun show or competition too, so calling ahead would be a good idea.

Their business card says Call For Hours 610-287-2060

I didn't know gunbroker had such a list. Then again, I don't spend much time on that site.

    Thanks for the info!!
