Default Glock 26 or 19 for IWB carry

I've shot my fiends 19 but have never shot a 26. The 19 feels good to shoot but is it too big to carry in a IWB holster? If not, what are some good holsters for this purpose that are relatively cheap (<$40-50)?

I've never really liked the glock but am starting to come around to it after shooting a few, so my second question is: are the 2 guns mentioned above just as reliable as the full size 17?

Those should both be fine for carry, I conceal carry a Full Size Glock in a Crossbreed Supertuck, they are just a bit more than you stated, but worth it..IMO

I carry a G26 in a crossbreed supertuck. I was initially taken back by the cost of the holster but well worth the comfort. I don't think that the 19 would be to big. They are both great guns. As i understand it the super tuck for my G26 will accommodate a 19, and 17 as well.

    19.

The part that will actually be under your belt is the same dimension for both.

The slightly longer barrel/slide on the 19 will actually improve the security of the gun, mostly because you have a little more weight below the belt. You don't lose anything by slightly increasing that dimension.

The 26 does have a slightly shorter butt, which is the dimension that is hardest to hide. However, most people replace the mag floorplate with a little finger extension. Which makes the 26 almost the same size as the 19, with 2/3 of the mag capacity.

The reason people put the little finger extension on is to make the gun more "shootable." If you're going to do a lot of shooting, the 19 is an easier gun to shoot well, and it accomplishes this without adding anything.

a glock 19 is definitely not too big for IWB carry.

frankly, a glock 17 is not too big for IWB carry.

in that case, glock 19 or glock 17?

i have heard the glock 17 is very light weight for its size and this makes it difficult to keep on target. Is that true?

I would, and did take the 19 over the 26 and 17. In my opinion the 26 has too short a grip and the 17 a little too long. The 19 is the perfect compromise in size. It is not too hard to carry. I carry mine most every day in an iwb holster.

I think the G19 is a better all around pistol than the 17 or 26.

Long story short I was issued a 19 and later on a 26. The 2 guns are so close in size I saw no distinct advantage. Go to the 26 and you get a little smaller gun and lose 5 rds in the mag. Use the +2 on the 26 and you've made the grip the same size as the 19. Traded in the 19 and was issued a 17. I didn't think the 17 was too big for IWB at 3-4 o'clock. Only an extra inch or so of barrel going down your pants over the 19. The only real advantage to the 26 was the shorter grip makes it easier to get out of an ankle holster.

No difference in reliability between the 3. During qualifications and training a malfunction with any Glock was a very rare event.

    The 19 is a compromise...but a perfect one!
